We are committed to providing genetic consultations in a variety of formats to meet the needs of all of our patients.  All patients receive an initial comprehensive review of their personal and family medical histories.

For those patients who wish to concentrate on an isolated and specific concern related to their personal or family history, or related to a prior received genetic test result, we offer:

• A focused genetic risk evaluation delivered via full (one-hour) consultation with one of our physicians and genetic counselors
• Coordination of genetic testing when indicated (for medication planning, disease predisposition evaluation, diagnosis confirmation, or disease management)
• A detailed health management plan based on your risk evaluation and genetic test results
• A follow-up one-hour consultation with one of our physicians
• Coordination with your primary care provider and other medical specialists to ensure effective implementation of your personalized health management plan
• Coordination of DNA banking (storage of genetic information as a resource for future generations)

For those who have multiple features of concern in their personal and/or family history, and for those patients who want to fully leverage the power of genetic risk assessment and technology for their health and that of their family, we offer the option of joining the Helix Health practice on a yearly basis. In addition to the services described above, this includes:

• Two additional hours of consultation with one of our physicians
• In depth consultation with a pharmacotherapy specialist (to evaluate your prescription & over-the-counter medications and vitamin/supplements to maximize benefit and avoid adverse reactions/interactions)
• Consultations with our nutritionist
• Quarterly patient updates based on a review of the relevant evidence-based medical genetics literature* and any changes in your personal or family history
• Access to your Helix Health password encrypted, secure electronic medical record
• If requested, additional physician consultations for a reduced fee
